What is Google™ Hangouts Panel?
Google™
Hangouts Panel is a Firefox Addon to access Google Hangouts from
toolbar panel UI. Moreover, with this addon you will get badge
notification for all incoming messages (unread). Accessing the panel is
very easy; just click on the toolbar-icon to open the toolbar panel.
Within the UI you will see the simplified version of
(hangouts.google.com) page. Please note that, it may take few seconds
before the panel fully loads, so please be patient when you click on the
toolbar icon for the first time, it will show a white screen for a few
seconds and then the Hangouts screen will be visible. After the first
load there wont be loading delays at all.
How to use Google™ Hangouts Panel?
Usage
is very simple. After install, just open the toolbar panel by clicking
on the toolbar icon. Once the panel is open, you will have access to all
Hangouts features right away. Note, if you are not logged in to your
hangouts page, you will be redirected to the login page in the panel.
Alternatively, you can open hangouts in a new tab and login from there.
How to resize the panel?
In
order to resize the panel, simply open the extensions page in Firefox
and click on the options button for Google™ Hangouts Panel. Once the
options page is open, you can adjust width and height. Note that all
changes are automatically saved to the memory.
Can I login to more than one Google account?
No, Hangouts only works if you are logged in only to one Google account.
How does badge notification works
Once
you receive a new message from one of your friends, the badge icon
changes to 1. Please note, badge icon does not count the number of
conversions within a friend and only counts the number of friends with
unread message. In other words, if you have several unread conversions
with one friend, the badge icon only shows 1. But when you have for
example 3 friends with unread messages, the badge icon-text will show
the number 3.
How to uninstall Google™ Hangouts Panel from your Firefox?
To
uninstall Google™ Hangouts Panel go to Firefox --> Add-ons -->
Google™ Hangouts Panel, then press on the Uninstall button.
How do I report Bugs for Google™ Hangouts Panel Addon?
In
order to report Bugs for this Addon, please fill the Bug report form in
this page (bottom section). Please be as specific as possible when
reporting Bugs, all these reports are forwarded to the addon author and
corresponding fixes will be available in the next release of the
extension.
Can I use Google Hangouts official page while using this Addon?
Yes,
using the Hangouts page does not interfere with this Addon . There is
also a button in the panel to help you open the Hangouts page at any
time. To do so, simply open the panel UI and click on the Hangout icon
from the left-side list. The Hangouts page will be open in a new Tab.
