Indonesia will impose a  moratorium on logging of natural forests and peatlands for two years.  This new agreement reached during the visit of President Susilo Bambang  Yudhoyono to Oslo, Norway.

Norwegian  aid disbursed amounted to one billion dollars to rescue the forests and  peat lands in Indonesia. Indonesia agreed to a moratorium on natural  forest protection and turf for two years. The signing of new agreements  for forest conservation project was witnessed by President Susilo  Bambang Yudhoyono and Norwegian Prime Minister 
Jens Stoltenberg.
Agreement in protecting degraded forests in Indonesia is a follow  climate talks, business-related reduction of greenhouse gas emissions  that cause global warming due to deforestation. Funds amounting to 1  billion U.S. dollars from Norway will be used for forest monitoring  system and a pilot project under the auspices of the UN scheme to  climate change, called 
REDD, or reduced emissions from deforestation and  
forest degradation. REDD scheme allows developing countries to earn  money, provided
