Setup PPTP VPN On Windows XP
How to Configure1. Open Network Connections in Control Panel
> Click Start then Control Panel
> Click Network and Internet Connections (skip if not there)
> Click Network Connections
2. Click Create a new connection under Network Tasks in the left column, then Next
3. Select Connect to the network at my workplace then Next
4. Select Virtual Private Network connection then Next
5. Type NameOfVPN in the Company Name box then Next
> Enter the vpn server address or IP in the Host Name field then Next
6. Select “My Use Only” if this is only for your Windows user account, or “Anyone’s Use” if there are other Windows accounts that should have access to this VPN connection.
7. Click Add a shortcut to have a VPN connection shortcut added to your desktop
8. Click Finish
How to Connect
1. Double Click the VPN connection icon on your desktop or click Start, select Connect To and select the VPN connection
2. Type the VPN Login and Password in their respective fields
3. Click Connect

>Click Start then Control Panel
>Click Network and Sharing Center
2. Click Setup a connection or network
3. Click Connect to a workplace then Next
4. Click Use my Internet Connection
5. Enter the VPN server address or IP in the Internet Address field then Next
6. Type NameOfVPN in the Destination name field
7. Check Don’t connect now then Next
8. Type in the VPN Login and Password in their respective fields; leave Domain blank
9. Click Create and then Close
How to Connect
1. Click Start, Connect To, NameOfVPN, Connect
2. Type in the VPN Login and Password in their respective fields. You don’t need to type Login and Password in this step if you have saved them.
3. Click Connect

> Click on Network and Sharing Center
2. Click Setup a new connection or network
3. Choose Connect to a workplace then Next
4. Click Use my Internet Connection (VPN)
5. Enter the VPN server address or IP in the Internet address: field:
6. Type NameOfVPN in the Destination name: field
7. Check Don’t connect now then Next
8. Type in the VPN Login and Password in their respective fields; leave Domain blank
9. Check Remember this password
10. Click Create and then Close
How to Connect
1. In the Windows Taskbar, click on the Network icon
2. Click on NameOfVPN, then click on the Connect button
3. Type in the VPN Login and Password in their respective fields. You don’t need to type Login and Password in this step if you have saved them.
4. Click Connect
